There was a time when it was simple. An eternal cycle repeated throughout the history of our world. Once every generation, the dragon Grigori would emerge from the realm known as the Rift to seek out one with the will to challenge him. This individual would become Arisen, and would seek to fell the beast and save Gransys from destruction. However this would now be the end of the Arisen's journey. Their true fate would be revealed, to claim the title of Seneschal and oversee the world until the time comes to find a new heir to the throne. But Grigori slowly grew tired of the endless cycle, of returning to the world only to be cast back into the Rift to await his next return. Using his own destructive power, he rebelled against the Seneschal and returned to our world for a final time, with the intent to destroy it, and end the cycle that imprisoned him for eternity. Gran Soren, capital of the great nation of Gransys, was the first victory of Grigori's rebellion. The Seneschal returned to the world it once called home and used its power to rebuild Gran Soren, using pieces of other worlds and made it larger and home to greater methods of defense. But these defenses would not be enough to quell the rebellion. Grigori was building an army of warriors from other worlds, corrupted by his evil, to fulfill his goal. The Seneschal's power alone was no longer enough to stop Grigori and his forces. What Gran Soren needed was an army. An army of Arisen. The Arisen were always linked to the dragon, and the collective will would be enough to at least keep the Corrupted at bay. Both sides bolster their ranks, finding warriors from other worlds to fight this battle, but whose will is stronger, that of the Seneschal, or that of Grigori? Coils of Light is a Multifandom RPG set in the nation of Gransys from Dragon's Dogma. Take up arms as an Arisen or Corrupted, and battle to protect the people of Gransys, or to bring about its destruction. If you don't care much for the battle, perhaps adventuring is more to your liking. Battling ferocious beasts, delving into ancient crypts, and telling your tale at the inn, truly quite the life, if you survive. Whatever you choose, know that if you are chosen by either force, your fate shall be forever changed. And it will all comes down to one question... Is your will strong enough?
